Rod Southwell last night (5th March 2024) received a gold badge for meritorious service in the Brent Knoll Royal British Legion. Rod has been the Standard bearer for the Brent Knoll Branch for 27 years as well as Chairman for 7 years. The branch has gone through some difficult times and whilst all the branches around us have had to close ours continues to move forward. Rod has attended many events as Standard bearer for our branch giving up his time with not a single word about remuneration. The highlight must be his attendance at the 100th anniversary of the First World War in Ypres for the Brent Knoll Branch.
