12:00am | Ceremonial planting of two oak trees and the unveiling of two plaques commemorating VE & VJ Day 2020 followed by tea and biscuits in the Parish Hall |
2.00 pm – 6.00 pm | Brent Knoll Parish Hall – Exhibition of World War II years Brent Knoll School-Evacuee’s. RBL-Exhibition of Photographs, War time Medals, Helmets, ARP etc. Women’s Institute war time savouries, tea and biscuits. |
9.00 pm | Lighting of a Beacon on the top of Brent Knoll. |
Sunday 16th August 2020 | |
10.00 am | St Michael’s Church, Brent Knoll – Bell ringing. |
10.30 am | Church service – Rev’d Kevin Wright, Methodist Ministers Steve Bennett and Margaret Trapp and Brian Dallimore RBL Chaplain to take the service. |
Union flags to be displayed on flagpoles where ever possible including homes, churches, Village/Parish Halls, War Memorials and the top of Brent Knoll. |
